This series follows up Direct Color - further testing your direct painting skills with a detailed, developed, still life. Where Direct Color taught through repetition, now it’s time to slow down and revel in the details. There’s a long academic tradition of careful, detailed, still life painting. Though I often break from traditional media and teach uniquely digital techniques, this video is much more classical in its approach to direct color painting. Though you won’t be making a portfolio piece, the challenge imparts a discipline that applies to all of your future paintings. Are you up to the challenge?
